What to Expect
What is it?
This is a tailored treatment to you and your needs to relax and get the most out of the massage.
Your choices from type of music, silence or chatting, down to the style of massage.
This tends to be a softer massage with general strokes
over the the whole body.
Gently guiding you into the realms of tranquillity.
If your feeling really anxious or stressed,
a specific head, tummy and foot massage
as part of the treatment could do you a world of good,
by stimulating your "relaxation" nervous system through gentle massage and holds.
What happens in the massage?
At the start we have a consultation, this will help to guide us
on how you would like your massage
and areas that need looking into.
This also includes information we, as a practitioners,
need to be aware of, for example, medical conditions and medication, as this could effect the areas that are massaged.
What to wear:
We recommend to wear comfortable underwear for this treatment. You will be covered by a towel during the treatment.
We can do this fully clothed, and this can be done on a chair.
It's all about you
Once you are happy with the treatment, you will then be asked to remove any jewellery from the massage area (if possible). You undress in privacy to a level that you feel comfortable. We can massage with you fully clothed if that makes you feel more comfortable, but it may affect the style of the massage.
You can then slide under the soft comfy sheets, to find a position you can drift off happily to the land of zen.
When you are ready, a therapist will come back in and the massage will start.
When finished the therapist will leave the room and allow you to revive and get dressed in privacy.
What is the difference between Holistic and Relaxation?
Holistic massage looks at the whole body, and aims to balance your body and mind. This can be done with varying types of strokes, movements and depth of massage. It can be quite interactive to get the right balance and movements
through the body.
Relaxation is aimed at activating your "relaxation" nervous system to give you that feeling of floating off the massage bed. It is a much gentler and slower treatment, with varying pressure to suit your needs.
I recommend drinking plenty of water throughout the day to help keep you refreshed and fresh after the massage.
