Service Description

This is an individualised treatment, from how long we suggest, to how we massage you. We encourage a phone consultation prior to the treatment as it may be beneficial for a zoom call with exercises given to build up to coming to the clinic and being treated on the bed. We generally use hot stones and slow myofascial massage, this encourages the body to gently release and to start moving and breathing in the correct manor for your body. We encourage mental health support with your chosen practitioner, or we have our amazing Susannah that you can access via our site to do online support. Why we encourage this method of treatment: Many studies are starting to prove a large part of long covid recovery is getting the body back from the sympathetic state (flight & Fight) into a parasympathetic state (Rest & Digest). This encourages your body to do a type of re-boot and starts to actually heal, recover and to re-balance the body. Think about if you're continually running from a tiger....your body hasn't got enough energy to digest, breath, heal, mentally regulate... it just wants to run and survive. The start of the massages are slow and often use hot stones as the body can struggle with touch when in an heightened state, this can be quite an emotional and painful time. Our bodies often preempt pain in this situation which means you tighten and actually feel pain. Which is why we do very slow initiation at the start with very slow preempted movement...we want to make this as comfortable and easy as possible for your body. As part of the process we asses and release the diaphragm and rib cage (thoracic cavity) to enable the body to breathe fully. We include exercises to teach the body to breathe correctly, encouraging a rest and digest state. Once you are breathing correctly for your body, we then work on getting you back to where you want to be. We take usually 3-6 90 minute sessions to get you breathing correctly, alongside you doing your exercises at home. We go at the pace your body sets, this is a marathon not a sprint. Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule please contact us 48 hours in advance of your treatment. Payment will be required for this if it is within the 48 hours. We will take into considerations any extenuating circumstances.
