My name is Daniel and I am a Massage Therapist for
Massage-Addict in Cleadon park, South Shields area.
The team and I have moved up from Leeds, where we ran a successful clinic for two years, but the call of family and the sea drew us back up north.
I run the athlete's massage program for Massage-Addict, which caters for
professional and amature athletes.
Not only do I get to enjoy talking sport, but also cater for their
physical maintenance needs to keep them ready for action.
Within massage I specialise in Holistic Sport & Injury Management Massage,
with the aim to get anyone and everyone back to their
sport and the activities they love
through the means of massage, stretching and exercises.
I have gained valuable experience as a Sports Massage Therapist
working in different industries and areas of the world.
Starting my massage career in a 5 star spa,
performing sport and relaxation massages on high-end clients,
Alongside the spa, I also provided massage at sport events around the country
providing pre and post event massage.

I spent my winter seasons in the French Alps which is an amazing place to work, and where I found my true passion, working alongside a mobile team
providing sports rehabilitation massage.
Many people who go skiing end up falling over on the snow and
are in need of a massage to get them moving smoothly again.
"In France I really enjoyed the challenge of meeting someone new,
finding out what their issues are and helping them get back
on the slopes as quick as possible."

An area I feel blessed to work in is pregnancy massage.
Helping a mother-to-be to relax for an hour,
taking time for herself and not have to worry about anything else.
Using specialist pregnancy techniques to
ease those pregnancy aches and pains.

After returning from France, Heather and I decided to pursue
the career we both love a little closer to home.
I am really excited about our journey with Massage-Addict and
look forward to what the future holds.

Behind the Massage

I grew up in Sunderland, loving swimming, running and playing
guitar, bass and drums in local bands.
After taking a couple of years out after sixth form to work and volunteer
I found a new home in Leeds attending Leeds Beckett University.
In my final year I discovered the sport of triathlon to combine
my love of swimming and running,
however, you'll often find me drumming on the bars of my bike
and singing a tune when on long rides
to bring 'music' into the sport.

I have experience of working and volunteering in the events and
hospitality industry for the best part of a decade,
I decided to change my career path and
retrained to be a Massage Therapist.

I wanted to have a career that I could work around my love of sport,
and more importantly my triathlon training.
Through massage I have found that my knowledge from sport
gives me the best insight into where my clients hurt
and need that extra attention, to get the most
out of their chosen activities.
